The Spirit of the Past Collection
This exhibition presents 20 dolls, six of which are on display for the first time.
Every doll is a one-of-a-kind, fine art, historical costume figurine, made of polymer clay (head and shoulders, torso, hands and legs), wire and fabric.
Every doll's costume consists of a minimum two layers of clothing and presents one-of-a-kind fashion.
The exhibition reflects an artistic approach to the costumes and fashions of Baroque, Rococo, Empire/ Regency, Victorian and Edwardian time periods.
An active group of area artists who paint together every Wednesday at the Gibson Centre. Activities include monthly workshops, critiques, ‘share the wealth’ presentations and outdoor painting in the summer.
