SOUTH SIMCOE ARTS COUNCIL

The South Simcoe Arts Council office is taking a break and will be closed from Monday, July 20 to August 3. Lynda will be overseeing all emails and may be reached through her home office. Please do not hesitate to email or contact her with regard to timely business matters.

The Alliston Business Improvement Association is busily organizing a successful Alliston Potato Festival. We are excited about this year's festivity, anticipated new location and an expanded area for the arts. We welcome your participation and we hope to see our fellow artists out to this event. Please advise Lynda if you plan to participate.

Lastly, we are thrilled to advise that Honda of Canada Mfg. has advised that they are sponsoring our Alliston Community Mural Project: Our Legacy of Agriculture.

The South Simcoe Arts Council is working with local artists, Greg & Sue Hindle, to produce a community mural based on the theme Our Legacy of Agriculture. We are inviting local emerging artists and students in grades 7 and up to participate in creating the mural. It will be painted on three panels to be installed along a fence on the property of the Alliston Feed Service. The mural will tell the story of our agricultural legacy and celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Alliston Feed Mill under its present ownership. It will create a focal point along Albert Street.

Interested emerging artists and students wishing to learn Mural Art are to contact Lynda by email.
