Canada Summer Jobs Opportunity South Simcoe Arts Council 2019

Events Coordinator: to help strengthen our profile as we provide arts and culture services to our community.
Full time position: 30 hours per week at $14.00 per hour.
Term: 8 weeks

Supervisor/Reporting Relationship:
As part of our on-site supervision plan we have to date formatted Policies and Procedures and carry out an Orientation Program for Purchase of Service Contracts. The student will be provided with the orientation. The student will be directly supervised by our Executive Director.

Purpose and Scope:
The South Simcoe Arts Council is prepared to train a high school student dedicated to providing a n outstanding and high level of customer service to our members, public and community groups and other government agencies and partners. This summer position would bolster the provision of arts and culture services during our tourism season offering more enhanced arts and culture activities.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The promotion of workshops, events/demonstrations as experiential opportunities, strengthened digital profiling and appropriate name brand marketing to enhance cultural and economic growth for artists and community members. Reports to Executive Director and will work closely with other team members and volunteers to promote our vision “Arts for All”.

Qualifications:
• between 15 and 30 years of age;
• a team player who is open to new and imaginative approaches to work related issues
• intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year
• superior organizational and time management skills, superior written and oral communication skills, with a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness
• proficiency with Mac computers is a must;
• an ability to handle private and confidential information with diplomacy and tact
• flexibility to work limited evenings and weekends
• is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and
- is legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial legislation.

Marketing and Event Outreach Intern: to help strengthen our profile as we provide arts and culture services to our community.
Full time position: 30 hours per week at $14.00 per hour.
Term: 8 weeks beginning either June 18, 2018 or June 23, 2018.

Supervisor/Reporting Relationship:

The student will be provided with the orientation. The student will be directly supervised by our Executive Director and coached and mentored by our Software Developer.
