THE SOUTH SIMCOE ARTS COUNCIL IS ON THE MOVE!
Since our incorporation in November 1994, twenty two years ago, the South Simcoe Arts Council has dedicated itself to serving our members; artists, member groups, community partners, businesses, youth and emerging artists, the young and young at heart and people with special needs while offering quality events, festivals and arts education for all ages.
Our revenues come from government at the municipal, provincial and federal level, sponsorships, foundations, memberships and donations. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and rely heavily on volunteers to assist with programs and special events.
The South Simcoe Arts Council, a registered, charitable, umbrella organization is dedicated to promoting artists and arts organizations in all disciplines. The geographic area served is South Simcoe and includes the towns of Bradford West Gwillimbury, Innisfil, New Tecumseth (where the office is located in the Alliston community); the two townships: Essa and Adjala, Tosorontio; and Base Borden.
For a number of years our members have suggested and encouraged us to locate to a more prominent location with better visibility and a better opportunity to interact with the general public. This will afford an unique opportunity to showcase the work of our membership and others while fostering our own identity as an organization.
The Board, after a thorough investigation, has leased the premises located at 41 Victoria Street East, Alliston ON L9R 1T7 effective October, 2015. We are excited and confident that this move will assist us in meeting the demands of our customers. This move represents a new chapter in the history of our organization, which will support our strategic development. We seek your support and volunteerism as we go forward in our new location.
