Canadian Theme Ideas for ARTS ON MAIN

Canadian Theme Ideas for ARTS ON MAIN

We want to thank everyone who has handed in their applications so far! Many have asked about the theme of this year's Arts on Main and what constitutes an appropriate submission...

2017 is the year of everything CANADIAN and a good submission could come from many different interpretations. What does Canada mean to you? ... Is it landscape, water, trees, urban? Is it family or a crowd of people, or people doing a certain activity that is common to us Canadians? Is it animals or something that reminds you of what you love about our daily lives in this great country?

If you would like to include a statement explaining your reasons, please feel free to do so, but explanation is not necessary. Our adjudicators will be judging each submission based on artistic merit, composition, colour, and success of the individual piece.

We would also like to announce an additional prize of People's Choice Award $150!

Thus the awards for ARTS ON MAIN JURIED EXHIBITION FOR ONTARIO150 will be presented as follows:

*RALPH HICKS Best of Show Award $350

*DR. IRV BRODER MEMORIAL BURSARY Most Promising Artist Award $225
