Clay and Felting Workshops

Clay and Felting Workshops

INTRODUCTION TO CLAY with Debra Gibbs
Saturday, June 4th Time: 1-3pm Fee: $30 Ages 9+
at: SSAC, 41 Victoria St. E., Alliston
Students will experience clay with its versatility of abstract and functional forms on the potter’s wheel together with hand building techniques.
We’ll explore texture and character using cross mediums to compliment the clay, creating fun while we complete our projects in the same day.
Clay has no limitations, we colour outside of the lines to see “what else”.

HOW TO MAKE 3D FELT
In this workshop you will learn how to design and make a unique 3D seamless hollow object using the wet felting technique and a simple plastic resist.
This technique allows you to create any hollow form such as a vessel, purse, or small bag.
Alpaca fibre will be used since the presenter is an alpaca farmer with wool and alpaca accents.
Workshop includes all materials. No experience required
suggestion: bring your own hand towel.
