Creative Works Youth Writing Contest
CONTEST CATEGORIES:
Children Short Story:
Ages 6-8 years
Maximum 500 words
Children Short Story:
Ages 9-12 years
Maximum 750 words
Suggested children's topics:
-My favourite pet or pets
-What I want to be when I grow up
-My best summer holidays
Drawings are welcomed with childrens' entries
Teen Short Story:
Ages 13-18 years
Maximum 1500 words
Young Adult Poetry:
Ages 13-18 years
Maximum 30 lines, including stanza breaks:
Maximum 60 characters per line
ALL SUBMISSIONS:
- Limit of 2 entries per person
- English Language MS Word Format
- Type-written, double spaced, clean copy with no identifying marks/or name on body of submission
- Entry is to be titled
- Please do not sign the entry
- Word count noted on last page includes the words in the title, headings and all words that make up the body of the story
- Each entry is to be original and previously unpublished
- A contest Permission Form must accompany each entry
- If under 18 years a parent/guardian signature is required
- Contest Permission Form and entry may be scanned and e-mailed to info@southsimcoeartscouncil.com or dropped off at the office at 41 Victoria St. E., Alliston, or mailed to Box 313 Alliston ON L9R 1V6
RULES
A signed Contest Permission Form/Privacy Waiver must accompany each entry. All entrants agree to abide by the terms and conditions of the South Simcoe Arts Council contest rules.
The entrant acknowledges and agrees that all submissions become the property of the South Simcoe Arts Council until the end of the calendar year. By submitting an entry the entrant irrevocable gives and grants the Arts Council and all parties designated by the Arts Council, the unrestricted, exclusive and royalty-free right of advertising, trade, display or exhibition. The Arts Council shall not be required to pay and royalty, cost or any other fee or remuneration of any kind for the use of such material.
