As your Executive Director for many years; this past November, I decided to step aside and allow for change to further emanate throughout the organization.
I came to the South Simcoe Arts Council in the capacity of a first time volunteer. I had just completed 25+ years as a Chief Administrative Officer, Municipal Government, followed by several interesting senior intergovernmental assignments.
I had always possessed a "passion for the arts", having pursued an earlier education and career in the Arts and Fashion Design.
In an effort to provide succession planning and to assist with seeing some of our tasks through to fruition; I let my name stand to be on the 2016-17 Board of Directors. At the Annual General Meeting that took place on Monday, December 19, 2016; and at a subsequent meeting follow the AGM, a new "Slate of Officers" as presented for 2016-17 was accepted as follows:
President: Lynda Mitchell Reynolds
Vice-President: Kristina Giammattolo
Treasurer: Charles Cooper
Secretary: Dian Bowers
Directors: Jan Atkinson, Yvonne Hugli, Dian Bowers,
Sarah Jane O'Donnell, Matthew Rait
Two years ago, Michelle Eissler introduced herself to our organization and has since committed to work with SSAC in a volunteer capacity. She shared her time, efforts, and her organizational skills willingly, achieving successes along the way.
With a Art & Art History Degree from the University of Toronto and an Interpretive Illustration Diploma from Sheridan College, we congratulate Michelle on becoming the successful candidate for Executive Director. I along with my fellow Board Members are confident in her abilities. The Board will be there to assist Michelle in her new role as we go forward in this exciting direction.
We are seeking assistance from our many skilled members. We require volunteers to assist with our various programs and events and would welcome your helping hands! Please forward your expression of interest to us.
Thank you for your ongoing support throughout the years. I would not have met with such success without you!
Lynda
