VOLUNTEER POSITIONS AVAILABLE at the South Simcoe Arts Council

They say Rome wasn't built in a day... and it certainly takes a lot of hands to build something great! We are an organization to be proud of and we do have some specific jobs that need some support. If you think you can provide some help in any of these areas, please let us know!

EXHIBITION ASSISTANTS at 41 Victoria -At the shop we changeover artwork every 6 weeks and that requires extra help!
*volunteers to assist on artwork changeover days when current exhibitions are coming down and new work is coming in
*assistance arranging and hanging new artwork
*assistance typing out new labels and affixing beside artwork

ARTS IN OUR COMMUNITY -This program showcases visual work around the community and needs a ART IN OUR COMMUNITY COORDINATOR and ASSISTANTS to arrange and assist with exhibits at various venues.
*Recruiting artists for exhibition
*Contacting artists and participating venues to arrange dates and times for artwork changeover
*Preparing Arts in our Community paperwork and labels for exhibit
*Occasional assistance with hanging artwork
*Database entry of exhibit and artwork details into computer system

EVENT SUPPORTERS -We have a number of different events we participate in including the Beeton Honey & Garden Festival, Battle of the Brushes and Potato Festival.
*Assistance with set-up
*Manning of tables; assisting in the shop during event

SHOP ASSISTANCE -We need outgoing people!
*Greet customers and answer questions
*Handle sales transactions
*Cleaning the shop; sweeping & dusting
*Occasional administrative duties requiring basic skills
