Workshops - MFMC 02 - Master Class Series: Acting the Song - youth

Learning to sing and perform songs is a multi-faceted training process. The singer has to remember many technical aspects of vocal production, managing breath and phrasing and evenness of tone from top to bottom of the range. At the same time, however, the singer must, above all, communicate the meaning of the song she/he is singing. Facial expression and body language combined with the sound of the human voice are the ways in which we communicate with one another, all the more so in singing. In fact, real understanding of the lyrics and commitment to sharing them can be the key to beautiful singing and to successful performance.

Catherine will work with participants on developing their story telling skills.
