Have a story to tell? Feel the need to express yourself in poetry or prose? The Creative Works writing competition invites amateur writers of South Simcoe to share your work.

The South Simcoe Arts Council has been shining a spotlight on up and coming writers of all ages, in all genres through its Creative Works Writing Contest.

Need a little more time to complete your entry? NEW SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday, May 25th, 2020.

**The SSAC Office is currently closed due the the COVID-19 pandemic. The office staff is reachable by email & phone if you have any questions.**

All manuscripts must be submitted ELECTRONICALLY to no later than 11:59PM EST on May 25th, 2020. All entries must be accompanied by a signed waiver and entry fee. Must be a resident of Ontario to be eligible for prizes. All entries will receive written feedback from a professional adjudicator.

Junior Children’s Short Story (8-10 years) - Max 500 words
Intermediate Children’s Short Story (11-13 years) - Max 750 words
Youth Short Story (14-17 years) - Max 1500 words
Youth Poetry (14-17 years) - Max 30 lines
Adult Short Story (18+ years) - Max 2000 words
Adult Poetry (18+ years) - Max 30 lines
