The South Simcoe Arts Council has been shining a spotlight on up and coming writers of all ages, in all genres through its Creative Works Writing Contest for six years.

We are excited to announce the winners of our Creative Works Youth writing contest!

Junior Short Story
1st place winner Andrew Geerts, for "Mini Ninja"
2nd place winner John Ryan for "Memories of Travel"
3rd place winner Akira Hsieh for "Mr. Goodman in the Zoo"

Intermediate Short Story
1st place winner Sasha Siska-Humphries for "The Darkness"
2nd place winner Lael Hughes for "Life Out of the Shoe Box"
3rd place winner Karissa-May Gadsby for "Adopted"

Youth Poetry
Overall winner Brooke Bowers for "Setting Life to Stone"
