Come and delight in these beautifully rendered images of moments in everyday life painted by local artist Catherine Robbin, at the Millpond Medical, Upper Main.
Inspiration for my painting is often found in observation of the ordinary, the small town, the daily activities and landscapes of rural life. This exhibit includes a painting of Mill Street in Creemore on a quiet weekday afternoon, one of an approaching storm just west of Rosemont and another of a market day scene in France. Here, too, is a winter painting of the colourful houses of St. John's, Newfoundland, often referred to as jellybean rows. The remaining painting is one of a violin soloist, always so lovely to observe in the full 'rhapsody' of her art.
Painting has been a growing passion for me since my retirement from a musical performance career and then a teaching position at York University. I am very grateful for the support and encouragement of artistic colleagues in the community and the South Simcoe Arts Council.
