Exhibits & Events - Workshops - AC_BH - Hand Embroidery for Beginners - Teen/Adult

This workshop will cover the basic sewing techniques used in hand embroidery.

Participants will learn how to choose the right threads, needles and fabrics for their projects. Five basic stitches, running stitch, chain stitch, feather stitch, satin stitch and the French knot will be taught. A small hoop project will be provided to practice the stitches.

Written instructions supported by drawings will also be provided.

A kit of tools and materials for lessons will be available at an additional cost of $25.00.

The Kit is optional, but you must arrive at class with the following items that are contained in the kit:

embroidery hoop
½ yard of unbleached muslin
Packet of needles
Needle threader
Three colours of embroidery thread

*SSAC reserves the right to cancel any class due to low enrolment. Minimum attendance for this class is 5 participants.
