Adult Writing Workshop – Writing the Gift

Ages: Adult

Not all gifts are purchased. Some of the most meaningful are the ones we create with our own hands and imagination.
In this generative writing workshop, participants will craft original pieces intended as personal gifts (poems, stories, letters, or handmade mini-zines). Through guided prompts and creative exercises, you'll explore memory, voice, and language as tools for connection, developing work that reflects both your own perspective and the recipient's significance in your life.

Alongside the writing process, you'll be introduced to the fundamentals of zine-making: simple, flexible booklets that merge text, imagery, and design into unique artifacts. These compact publications offer a playful yet powerful way to transform your words into something tangible to share.

Open to all levels, this workshop invites adults to slow down, generate new writing, and leave with completed or in-progress pieces one-of-a-kind creations that extend far beyond traditional gifts.

A portion of your class fee will support the Alliston Food Bank.
