Entropy Series - Reclaimed, 2024

In Reclaimed, the quiet interplay of light and decay is beautifully captured. Sunlight spills across painted rock, illuminating its textured surface in a warm, ethereal glow. Meanwhile, the earth's slow and persistent reclaiming of a tree unfolds before us—weaving deeper into the soil, as nature gradually absorbs what was once alive. The 12x18 Luster Print highlights the contrast between the vivid colors of the rock and the soft, inevitable encroachment of time on the tree, evoking themes of renewal, surrender, and the cyclical nature of life and decay.

Artist Bio

I am Sherry Thompson (Barton). I am passionate about the exploration and preservation of nature.

I have had the experience of exploring nature's diversity having lived in Mexico, New Brunswick, and other various Ontario locations.

This has allowed me to explore and question different native environments and to communicate those discoveries to my audience.

As a photographer, my photos reflect both the art and natural beauty of our natural environment; capturing what is seen but not seen.

I believe in surrounding yourself with pieces that have true meaning, which inspires you to live "Life to the Fullest".
