Mourning Dove

Mourning Dove is the first of four Spruce Valley novels. Meet 11 year old Billy and follow his adventures as the school year comes to an end and Billy then spends the summer on his Grandpa's farm. Billy is grieving the lost of his father and finds comfort with his Nana Vera and Grandpa Earl. Billy's mother is also heartbroken and finds a source of contentment on the farm. In the end, it is the bond of family love and family history – the ties that bind Billy, Marion, Earl and Vera so closely together – that makes the story so real, so honest and so enriching.
