2025 Syllabus - Speech Arts & Drama
All prices will reflect Early Bird Pricing until February 1, 2024. After that date the system will automatically update to reflect our regular pricing.
All selections must be memorized. Selections not memorized will be adjudicated only.
Language and content of selections must be of appropriate for all levels of participants and audience.
No props or costumes are to be used except where specified. Competitors should select material that requires a minimum of props, which should be portable.
Please time each selection according to class time requirements.
Canadian Poem
Any poem written by a Canadian poet. Performers may register for this class more than once as long as each registration is a different poem. Must be memorized. Max time 3 minutes.

Dramatic Storytelling
Selection from a story of your choice, to be told from memory. Performers may register for this class more than once as long as each registration is a different story. Costumes and/or minimal props must be used.
Time 3-5 minutes
Monologue
Monologue chosen from published work. Performers may register for this class more than once as long as each registration is a different monologue. Max time 5 minutes
Dramatic Ensemble
Two or more people to perform a scene from a published script. Costumes and/or minimal props may be used. Performers may register for this class more than once as long as each registration is a different scene. Max time 7 minutes.

Speech Arts and Drama Master Class
Each participant will work directly with the adjudicator on a prepared piece(s) of the participant's choice. Each participant will work with the adjudicator for 20 minutes. All participants will remain for the full duration of the class.
