Submission Requirements
Entries must:
Be written in English
Be typed in Times New Roman 12-point font, double spaced, and sent in PDF format
Have word count included below title on first page
Include page number and title on each page
Judging is blind - do not put your name or any identifying marks on your submitted manuscript
Any submissions with identifying marks may be disqualifiedWriting Contest Rules
Each entry must be original and previously unpublished
Registration is available online at www.southsimcoeartscouncil.com/creativeworks
Registration is due by the following deadlines: Adult - November 1st, 2022 and Youth - November 15, 2022. Late entries will not be accepted
Registration fee must accompany each entry
All manuscripts (poem or short story) must be emailed to creativeworks@southsimcoeartscouncil.com no later than 11:59PM EST on the date of the Adult or Youth Deadlines as stated above
Paper copies will not be accepted
Refunds will not be given for disqualified or late entries
All qualifying entries will receive written feedback from the adjudicator
Entrants must be a resident of Ontario to qualify for awards
Please pay special attention to entry requirements as stated on the Syllabus
Entries that exceed word count or include identifying marks or author's name may be disqualified
Winners will be notified by email
Winners names, entries, and photos will be published on the Creative Works website and may be shared on the main site and our social media at our discretion
Entrants not selected as winners will not be notified individually
Winners may be asked to submit a headshot to accompany their work when published
Winners agree to allow the SSAC to publish their story, poem, and photo on any SSAC Websites & Social Media
All entrants must agree to our waiver at time of check out - outlining that you have read and understand all of these rules and submission requirements and agree to them
