Current Exhibits - Ginette Pelletier

Apr 19, 2024 - Jul 19, 2024

Ginette Pelletier has always been fascinated by advertising pages. Ginette's work is heavily influenced by graphic design and illustration. An acrylic painter by inclination, Ginette also incorporates collage, printmaking, and drawing techniques, with a preference for using atypical colour combinations.

This series was an exercise in researching what would happen if the world was really seen through pink lenses and what kind of fantastical scenery would emerge from this dreamy world. I was influenced at the time by traditional Chinese art and science fiction literature. I used a lot of water in the paint application to obtain a blurred composition; the fluorescent colours complete the surreal composition.
