This pair of graphite drawings explores the quiet dignity and openness of an older generation who allow their aging to be fully seen. Rendered with soft graphite and lifted with subtle white accents, each portrait honours the lines, textures, and traces of experience that accumulate over a lifetime.
Rather than masking age, the subjects carry it with an ease that feels both happy and poised. Their expressions suggest a confidence grounded not in performance, but in lived knowledge—wisdom that rests naturally in the contours of their faces.
Through close observation and minimalistic materials, the drawings invite viewers to encounter aging as something luminous rather than diminishing. These works celebrate the beauty found in presence, resilience, and the stories written gently into the skin.
