On display at Alliston Attic in Alliston. 39 Victoria St W.
The colours , movement and life going on around me everywhere is magic every single day. I love to capture the sunlight or shadow. Memorable images of the ordinary happenings are my focus and pleasure to paint.
I have always depicted trees in the majority of my paintings as I am drawn to the natural strength and beauty they represent.
These small paintings were inspired by the warmth of the summer and times I spent outside observing life. The steeple of St. John's United Church always catches my eye. The people out walking doing daily routines started just from a sketch from my front porch enjoying the beauty of the sunlight on the trees surrounding our mail boxes.
For over 50 years I continue to be inspired by so many artists from the classics to the local artists I create with here in Alliston.

Whether landscapes, seascapes, people or animals, I love to draw, and paint. "Love life and art."
The medium I paint with most is acrylic, although I also enjoy others, such as pastel and watercolour.
My works are "memorable images" of special places and times. I try to capture motion and light. Recently I have been creating more abstract paintings which I find fun and challenging. Creating a composition that involves the viewer to sense the light and motion with keeping them involved in the flow of the line and colour is fun for me. I hope to give pleasure and evoke a memory to the viewers.
I teach to encourage young artists and anyone wishing to improve their present ability through seeing shape and colour, getting past the fear of starting a piece, to enjoying creating with colour, lines and shapes.
