A creative and healing experience that helps participants embrace their personal stories, build resilience, and envision a powerful future. Using guided reflection, art-based activities, and storytelling, you'll leave with tools for self-empowerment and growth.

Day 1: Your Story, Your Power – reframing challenges into strengths.
Day 2: Art as Armor – creative exercises for resilience and expression.
Day 3: Future Self Blueprint – guided visioning and goal setting.

Location: The Gibson Centre at 63 Tupper St W, Alliston.

Materials

- Flip chart or whiteboard & markers
- Name tags & sign-in sheet
- A4 or 8.5×11 paper (plain + colored)
- Art supplies: markers, colored pencils, crayons, pastels, watercolor sets, brushes
- Magazines for collage, scissors, glue sticks
- Pop filter playlist / calm background music
- Small sticky notes in multiple colors
- Postcards or index cards (for takeaways)
- Optional: Clay or tactile materials for hands-on art
- Timer or phone alarm to keep segments on track
- Journal/notebook

Instructor - Monica Loney

Monica Loney is a Métis visual artist based in Barrie, Ontario, known for large-scale murals and public art. Her work blends technical skill with community storytelling, aiming to foster connection and dialogue. In 2022, she received Barrie's Emerging Artist Award for her contributions to accessible, inclusive art. Recently, she has received an Ontario Community Changemakers grant from 8-80 Cities and continued her advocacy on the benefits of public art through her project 'The Transformative Power of Public Art.' Monica uses blind contouring and the continuous line in her works to represent our universal connection we all share.
