Updates to Exhibition & Workshop Administration

Dear SSAC member, 
 
As our Board of Directors prepare for our upcoming Annual General Meeting on February 17, we have been reflecting on what a wonderful year 2017 was and how excited we are to be heading into 2018 with many exciting opportunities on the horizon. We are so very grateful to you, our members, for all of your creativity, inspiration, and support. It is such a pleasure to serve each of you, the wonderful individual members of the South Simcoe Arts Council! 
 
We are very pleased to announce that our retail space and office at 41 Victoria street has been working out so well. Collectively, our exhibiting artists have seen a significant increase in sales in 2017 and we expect this momentum to continue into 2018. As we look at better ways to serve our members and exhibiting artists better we have carefully reviewed our fee structure for membership, exhibits, and workshops. While we are keeping our membership fees at the same rate they have been for almost a decade, our Board of Directors, in an effort to ensure the viability of the Arts Council in its location on the main street of Alliston, has reviewed the administration fees and realizes a slight increase in these fees is necessary to adjust our costing structure to allow us to better serve you, our members.
 
2018 Fees as of March 1 will be:
 
Individual Membership: $40
Family Membership: $50
Youth Membership: $15
Member’s Retail Commission: 25%
Non-Member per Exhibition Fee: $25
Non-Member Retail Commission: 35%
Workshops hosted through SSAC Administration Fee: 6%
 
We have a number of changes happening in 2018 that will provide added benefits and opportunities to all of our members across the many artistic genres. We hope that you will join us at our AGM so that we can share with you our year in review and thank you for you continued support.
