This artwork is a mixed-media piece that explores ideas of youth, nature, and innocence. I often use nature motifs in my paintings as I am inspired by the green spaces of Alliston and surrounding areas. I often do my artwork outside in the warmer months, and use the outdoors to inform my art-making. I used both oil painting and block printing in this piece, layering different mediums on top of one another to capture what a memory looks like in my mind's eye. I aimed to represent the absurdity and haziness of childhood memories.
