The Pumpkin Bin

The theme of Arts On Main this year pushed me to finish this piece that I've been working on and off on for two years. These pumpkins were drawn from a picture that I took at the produce bins at Vince's market. I took the photo because I was just so blown away by the bright blue pumpkin that was resting amongst the yellow and orange ones. I thought about how beautiful it was that this singular plant could produce so many different varieties of colours and shapes naturally. In this piece I wanted to capture how striking that blue pumpkin was, and bring attention to the beautiful vegetation that surrounds us.
