Task 2

This series is built from materials found around my home—objects often overlooked, yet deeply embedded in the rhythm of daily life. Many of these items are tools or remnants associated with labour.
By recontextualizing them through this artwork, I shift their purpose from task to testimony. These pieces are not just about domestic or manual labour; they are a personal reflection on the invisible weight of routine, memory, and care. Each object holds a trace of my life—its textures, its wear, its story. Together, they form a quiet, intimate landscape of the self.

This medium-sized pinch pot takes on the gentle silhouette of a beehive—curved, organic, and quietly resonant. Its exterior is coated in a clean white gloss, while the interior holds a deep, see-gloss blue, drawing the viewer inward with a sense of depth and stillness.

Rather than woven, the edge is crocheted—not with yarn, but with repurposed dryer sheets. Stripped, dyed, and transformed, these everyday remnants are given new life through a repetitive, meditative process. Their delicate presence reinforces the themes central to Held Together: fragility stabilized through care, and the quiet strength of materials often dismissed.

This piece, like the others, balances contrast—between surface and shadow, inside and out, the handmade and the discarded—while staying grounded in rhythm and intention.
