the THAW series - 4

Like the first thaw after winter, these works reveal themselves slowly. At first glance, the surface appears unified, but with closer attention, hidden elements begin to emerge—small fragments, textures, and objects that disrupt and enrich the whole. This process of discovery mirrors the gradual uncovering that occurs as ice melts and the landscape resurfaces.

The embedded objects act as anchors for memory, each piece encapsulating fragments of personal relationships and lived experiences. These materials carry their own histories, which are woven into the work both physically and conceptually. Through layering, concealment, and revelation, The Thaw explores how stories are held, obscured, and eventually brought to light.
