Barbara Large is an Elected Member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour/La Society Canadienne de Peintres en Aquarelle established in the year of 1925.
Barbara has shown her work in numerous juried shows and art auctions, participated in an exhibition travelling across Canada through the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour in conjunction with the Blackwood Gallery, Erindale College, University of Toronto. She was invited to take part in the international Biennial Exhibition at the National Museum in Coyocan, Mexico 2004. She is expected to be published in a book currently in progress but not yet available.
This year, 2022, Barbara completed, successfully, 'In the Studio: Postwar Abstract Expressionism' authorized by MOMA, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, USA, offered through Corsera. She also received the Ampersand Award from the '3rd Annual Women in Watercolor, International Juried Exhibition, Pawlet, Vermont, USA.
"I paint because it gives me a great sense of accomplishment when I record that which captures my attention, be it a sound, a sight, an object or an idea. Painting is my way of recording both what I see and what I feel."
