Cael Cohen is a philosophy professor, oral storyteller, writer, and artist, who lives in Tottenham, Ontario. She has been creating abstract expressionist and conceptual paintings and pastel works since 1980. She has been painting interior wall murals since 2014, with a passion for painting trees on walls. Cohen is fascinated by the role the pre-conscious body plays in the creation of art. She experiences the process of creating art as an excavation of the pre-conscious, embodied self, as the exposure, processing and recording of living body, proprioceptive, archaeological remains.
