Cael is an oral storyteller who trained under master storytellers in Toronto. She specializes in telling strange tales of wonder and ghost stories, and has performed at the Toronto Festival of Storytelling. She also writes young adult fiction, paints and is an amateur ornithologist. Her hobby is bartending. She is a part-time Bar Steward at the Tottenham Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 329. Cael is a philosophy professor at York University. Her area of expertise is existential phenomenology. Her work is influenced by John Dewey, Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Evan Thompson. Her research weaves together complexity theory, emergence theory, enactive cognitive science, ecological thinking and Buddhist psychology. Cael has won several teaching awards. Accounts of her pedagogy, course design and use of teaching technologies have been reported on CBC Radio, CTV News, Toronto Sun, Metro News, 680 News Radio and in other media.

Jessica Van de Kemp is the author of the poetry chapbooks "Daughters in the Dead Land" (Kelsay Books, 2017) and "Spirit Light" (The Steel Chisel, 2015).
