Deborah Lynn Darling

Drawing and painting have brought me peace and quiet joy since I was able to pick up a pencil or paintbrush.
Art always thrills me in whatever form I see it because to me, someone's spark for life is reflected there. And there is always Art's beauty and meaning to lift my spirit.

My comfort zone as an artist is pen and ink or graphite; my growing edge is colour, in oils, acrylics, or pencil crayons. My favourite subject matter is the human face; sometimes I like to express inner states in an outward image.

I was accepted as a student to OCAD and York Fine Arts but did not end up attending. I did a BA at the University of Waterloo and BEd at York University. Since then I have taken art classes at Central Tech in Toronto, Georgian College, and learned about acrylic painting from Mark Hope in Barrie.
