ART is an EXPRESSION and REFLECTION of FEELINGS.
I was born and raised in Toronto. While growing up I recall sitting beside the radio listening to "The Shadow" and colouring or painting. I always enjoyed dabbling. In 1980, after being offered a job, I moved to the island of Bermuda which provided me the opportunity and inspiration to pick up my watercolours, and to take my art work more seriously. My days were dedicated to a reinsurance firm, but evenings and weekends were devoted to capturing the essence of this paradise of pink beaches and turquoise waters. Bermuda College art courses, workshops and private group lessons all matured my work as an artist. An outdoor exhibit entitled "A Favour of Bermuda" was my first commercial success.
I won the Award of Merit for Watercolour Painting at the Muskoka Arts and Crafts Incorporated Annual Spring Members' Show. The Bermuda Junior Service League fundraising campaign selected one of my paintings for their annual Christmas card. At various juried shows and gallery presentations with the Bermuda Dockyard Art Centre, Bermuda Society of Arts at City Hall and as a permanent artist with Darrell's Wharf Gallery, many of my paintings were sold.
Retiring to the unique and wonderful regions of Muskoka and now Simcoe County has encouraged me to develop a new style and experience a new colour palette.
