
Heidi Jordan was born in NY, NY. As a child, she began drawing on walls, toys, etc, until she was directed by frantic parents to draw on paper. Her first published art appeared in a collection of children's artwork in the Museum of Modern Art in NY at the age of seven. Having been drawn to faces from early on, inspired by God's most interesting and intimate creation, she began to concentrate on drawing and painting portraits in various media, including pencil, pencil crayon, pen and ink, charcoal, pastel, acrylic, and oil. Heidi also began to draw cartoons and caricatures, having been inspired by newspaper editorial cartoons. Her first published cartoon appeared in the Walden Observer. Heidi's artwork had been exhibited in student art shows in Northern Ontario. Heidi was accepted into the Ontario College of Art, now known as OCAD University.
While a student at the Ontario College of Art, Heidi did portraits and caricatures for Portraits in Pastel at Ontario Place and the Canadian National Exhibition.
After graduation, Heidi began producing courtroom drawings for CFTO-TV in Toronto. Her courtroom drawings appeared on the evening news broadcasts of CFTO News (local) and CTV News (national) as well as a spot drawing on the front page of the Toronto Sun. She also has done caricatures at childrens parties for TD Canada Trust and Scotiabank, as well as for The United Way (charity).
Heidi did the editorial cartoons for the Alliston Herald for several years. and is a member of a number of artists' organizations.
