Volunteers are the Heart of SSAC

Volunteers are the Heart of SSAC

There are so many ways you can participate

Do you enjoy surrounding yourself with creativity?

Are you looking for a way to get involved with your local community?

Since 1994 the South Simcoe Arts Council has offered opportunities for community members to engage with the arts.
SSAC is a non-profit, charitable organization. We carry on the legacy of community and volunteering from which the Arts Council was born and continues to grow.
Our vision is Arts for All.

VOLUNTEER WITH US!

Here are some of the volunteer opportunities you can participate with

SHOP & OFFICE ASSISTANTS
FORTYONE: LOCAL ART MARKET

FortyOne: Local Art Market is the SSAC office location and the permanent retail and exhibition space for SSAC member artists and artisans to show and sell their work.
We seek friendly people to greet customers, handle queries and assist with sales transactions.
We offer training on our point-of-sale and inventory systems. Responsibilities may include: assist with hanging exhibitions, input inventory, assist with SSAC office duties and tidy shop.
Desired skills: excellent interpersonal and communication skills, punctual and dependable, organized and detail focused, with basic understanding of technology.

FESTIVALS
SSAC participates in annual community street festivals like Alliston Potato Festival, Beeton Honey & Garden Festival and Tottenham Community Week Street Festival.

PROGRAMS & EVENTS
SSAC runs exciting programs throughout the year that rely on volunteers; Creative Works Writing Contest, Arts on Main and Youth Arts Exhibitions, Arts in our Community and SSAC Music Festival.
We welcome you to get involved and contribute to bringing these events to our community.
Volunteers can help at events and festivals by connecting with public, handing out promotional material, helping with set-up and tear down, or taking live event photos and video for the social media team.

WORKSHOP ASSISTANT
Workshop volunteers greet participants and take attendance, help distribute supplies and assist instructors with workshop set-up and clean-up.

We look forward to working together to promote the arts in South Simcoe!
