Capturing Autumn Landscapes
Join artist Mary Lou Leitch for a vibrant exploration of autumn's beauty. In this workshop, you'll learn how to combine watercolour and acrylic techniques to create a glowing fall scene, rich with the colours of changing leaves and their reflections on the water. Guided by Mary Lou's expertise, you'll capture the mood and memory of the season in your own unique way.
Some painting experience is recommended.
This is a 2-hour class. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to get settled.
Throughout the session, you'll receive guidance and encouragement as you relax and enjoy the creative process of painting a beautiful fall landscape.

Acrylic: Primary Yellow, Blue, Red, plus Titanium White
Watercolour: Red, Yellow

Fine and medium permanent black Sharpie
Palette
Your preferred palette (must include red, blue, and yellow)
Paper
140 lb quarter sheet watercolour paper or 11" x 14" heavyweight mixed media paper (Canson is recommended)
Sketching Supplies
Sketchbook for rough ideas
Pencil
Brushes
1" flat watercolour brush
Small round watercolour brush
Acrylic flats and rounds (small to medium)
Any favourite brushes you like to use.

I have learned from so many teachers, artist friends, in clubs across Canada, UK, and Florida as well as the Artists at the Gibson in Alliston. Virtual shows, so available today, have helped me continue to learn and improve my painting skills.
Whether landscapes, seascapes, people or animals, I love to draw, and paint. "Love Life and art." The medium I paint with most is acrylic. Other mediums such as pastel and watercolour I also enjoy.
I have had the honour of being accepted into many juried shows in Canada and the USA. I have won people's choice a number of times and sold my paintings in Canada, the USA, and England. A highlight was a sale from an entry in a juried show in Venice Florida.
My works are "memorable images" of special places and times. That is the key to all my paintings, "if it is memorable" I reproduce it in some form eventually.
