Victorian puzzle purses are paper containers that were folded into a pinwheel or star shape to reveal a secret message. They were popular in the Victorian era, but their origins date back to the 1700's. Part origami, part greeting card, Victorian-style puzzle purses are not just for Valentine's Day!
These puzzle purses can be tailored to best friends or even children. Rebecca will guide workshop participants through the sometimes tricky process of folding the puzzle purse. Then, she will offer suggestions on how to decorate the puzzle purse. No previous origami experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided.

My name is Rebecca Doyle. I am a scientist with a passion for watercolour. I am inspired by my local environment and often paint the plants and animals that I encounter around my workplace, the Scanlon Creek Conservation Area (Bradford, Ontario).
I sell original watercolour paintings, giclee prints, and art/greeting cards. My creative process involves "glazing", or layering many thin layers of watercolour paint. I occasionally incorporate gouache into my paintings, depending on the subject.
